Neuro Rehabilitation and Technology Expo – June 10th and 11th 2015
The Birkdale Team were fortunate to attend the fast growing Neuro Rehabilitation Expedition this year, to exhibit both our therapeutic and educational work here at the centre. As private practitioners we realise and promote the importance of communication and collaboration between students, therapists, academics and company representatives. The expedition provides an excellent forum within which this is facilitated. Communication is the key to enable continual professional development and in turn optimising our professional therapeutic approach with our clients.
The world of technology is developing at an incredible rate and it is essential for us as health care practitioners to keep abreast of changes in what is available and could potentially assist our clients in reaching their goals. Attendance to the expedition highlighted the progression which has been made in the technological market. With exciting developments in gait training such as gravity eliminated or self-contained hydrotherapy and further developments in upper limb training devices with use of computer programming to be used to facilitate active assisted exercises.
Following the exhibition we are very excited here at the centre to invite a number of the company representatives to demonstrate their devices and to trial them with our clients to enable both ourselves and our clients to review the benefits of the products.
The future of neuro rehabilitation is an exhilarating prospect and here at the Birkdale Neuro Rehabilitation Centre we are thankful to be a part of it.
